Today is Day 5 of my Mini-Blog Challenge.

I’m a big fan of auto-pilot (I use that word for those of you who are ‘routine’-averse). With routine/auto-pilot, I love how my brain doesn’t have to think. And it fascinates me how the more often I do something (like my Daily Check-in or brushing my teeth), the more deeply ingrained the habit becomes and that I actually miss it when I skip it. Routine makes things easy. It conserves energy. Things become second nature. The mundane stuff gets auto-piloted (<– is that even a word?) and my creativity is freed up.

Even more than making routine, I love breaking routine. I enjoy that dopamine hit that comes from being spontaneous, or stretching the rules. Like going to the ocean pool for a swim today.
